Strømbergs, CONTENUR’s local partner in Norway, has installed new OPTIK vertical-loading containers in the municipality of Nes, 60 kilometres north-east of Oslo. This small Norwegian town has a population of more than 25,000 inhabitants and is one of the pioneering European cities in the recycling of organic waste, activity which began in 1998.

A total of 45 units of the OPTIK model have been installed, with a capacity of 2 and 3 m3 and a double hook lifting system. The colour chosen by the service company Esval Miljøpark has been grey with green inlets for the recycling of glass and metal.

The igloo has been supplied with access openings at the front at a height of 1500mm and at the sides at a height of 900mm for better accessibility. Of the 45 units supplied, 20 have been destined for housing developments and condominiums.

The incorporation of this new igloo model in the collection route of the city of Nes has been very well received. The increase of parking points has increased the recycling at source of glass and metal, which has increased the overall recycling rate within the municipality.

The quality of the OPTIK igloo and the level of service offered were key factors in the choice of the right product and its successful implementation in the municipality of Nes.
